Trilliant selects Telegesis as ZigBee support partner for UK Smart Metering Interoperability Project

As the UK gears up for smart metering deployments right across the country the next two years will see a critical period in the run-up to the Government mandated mass roll-out.

To offer as many players as possible the opportunity to provide compatible products into this growing market, global smart grid communications leader, Trilliant, has launched an Interoperability Group, which unifies multiple home energy management devices within a single eco-system.  The formation of the Group provides utilities with a clear, low risk route to help consumers cut their energy bills by up to 10% - by installing smart meters.  The Interoperability Group is based around Trilliant’s Communications Hub, currently being deployed in the UK.

Partners will specifically benefit from a Trilliant Hub Emulator which will enable interested parties to design interoperable meters, In Home Displays and other smart metering products which can be deployed into UK homes wherever the Trilliant hub is fitted.

Already 8 companies have joined the Trilliant programme to deliver simplified, interoperable energy awareness devices to more quickly bring the benefits of smart metering to consumers.

Telegesis has been appointed as the front line support partner in this ecology. All members of the interoperability group will receive the hub emulator and get five hours of support from Telegesis within the price of the kit.
